screen-shot-2016-11-16-at-9-47-01-pmState Department spokesman Jim Kirby and RT’s Gayane Chickakyan have a heated discussion in the below video from RT.

The end result?

  1. RT is deliberately labeled a rung below independent, legitimate news organizations.
  2. RT is asking the US State Department to give details they have not bothered to ask from the Russian Defense Ministry.
  3. RT is questioning sources, whereas their sources tend to be “it is well proven” but never is. RT’s sources are seldom cited. Sources that are cited are usually on a faux news site list.

I credit Jim Kirby for keeping his cool. I also credit Ms. Chickakyan for maintaining her professionalism while engaged in a fairly heated discussion.

I see Ms. Chickakyan’s point, but she appears to be asking for detailed information which is down in the weeds and voluminous.  My gut says she could have asked for the information in another way, at another time, and received a less heated response.

I believe reporting agencies, all the legitimate news sources Kirby points to, are going to be forced to maintain a higher standard of professionalism in the aftermath of the US presidential election, where it has been pointed out that many, if not most, legitimate news sources became emotionally wedded to one side or the other. They stopped being professional. They also stopped being the watchdogs for the politicians and government.

Good to see, Jim Kirby, keep up the good work.
